Programs built for and by women in tech

Presented by national nonprofit ChickTech, ACT-W (Advancing the Careers of Technical Women) programs are tech-centric events, memberships, and conferences where talented women, non-binary folks, and allies can build skills, grow their community, and accelerate their career paths.

100% of the proceeds from ACT-W help ChickTech build a more diverse and inclusive tech culture and workforce by expanding the pipeline of underrepresented individuals pursuing tech and increasing retention throughout careers through free youth programs and a lifelong adult community of support and empowerment.

ACT-W Conferences

ACT-W Conferences are packed with engaging programming and attendees participate in groundbreaking sessions, training workshops, networking opportunities, career and community fair and happy hours designed to build leadership, career advancement, and technical skills.

  • The conference exceeded all my expectations: I'm now radically more motivated, I found a product that may dramatically help my nonprofit agency, and I've connected with several dynamic attendees.
    Sasha T.
  • The speakers were great and helped set the tone for a fun, genuine, and inclusive conference. As a sponsor, I found the volunteers to be super helpful and generous with their time. We were hoping to meet a diverse group of people who were curious and excited to learn. ACT-W brought this group together!
    Samuel C.
  • I connected with a lot of great people in my field, learned about the day-to-day in a career path I am considering, and I even made a connection with a potential future employer. I left feeling really empowered and ready to take the next steps in my career.
    Alex H.
  • What an amazing space - not only wonderful to meet other women, but excellent topics for sessions also. It's so refreshing and energizing to be at a conference with so many other technical women. I'm so used to being one of a few most of the time.
    Sarah L.
  • As a male ally and personnel manager, I definitely feel the experience of attending this conference has made me a better manager overall. I would recommend it. A lot of great information and perspectives packed into this event!

We help transform company culture.

Your employees want to stay connected to supportive peers, hone their skills, and make the tech a stronger industry. The research shows that professional development is increasingly becoming a leading factor in employee satisfaction and productivity. A 2020 study by UiPath found that 68% of US workers feel “somewhat” to “strongly” intimidated when they need to learn a new technology skill.

But we know that supportive, intentional training helps lessen employee anxiety about learning new digital skills. In 2021, 55% of surveyed ACT-W Conference attendees said that their interest interest in learning new tech skills in order to advance at work increased due to the event.

We built ACT-W with both professionals and employers in mind. Learn about the ways you can partner with us to showcase your company’s commitment to diversity and tech, find talented job seekers, and grow your employees’ skills & satisfaction.
